Overview

The Proficiency Testing program is designed to standardize the hematopoietic colony-forming unit (CFU) assay. Participants will be assessed on their proficiency at performing cord blood (CB) colony CFU assays using fresh cord blood; focusing on the following aspects:

1. Plating and Set-Up of CFU Assay
2. Colony Enumeration and Identification
3. CD34+ Analysis (optional for non-NMDP member banks). This program is only available in North America.
